01-05-2005 - Vendia notch up ten years at Marks & Spencer
Vendia's London based platform, Simply Drinks, is celebrating a double success; 10 years working with Marks & Spencer, plus a new agreement to supply and maintain vending machines at their new offices in Paddington Green.
At the end of 2004, Marks & Spencer completed a huge relocation from their offices in Baker Street to a new purpose built site – Waterside House in Paddington. Simply Drinks, part of the Vendia Group, equipped the new offices with state-of-the-art vending machines to create a café-style feel at the site.
With 1,800 people working from the new site, the vending requirements are varied, and for this reason Simply Drinks has installed 24 coffee machines and 10 bean-to-cup machines. The more luxurious bean-to-cup machines are all cashless – the staff use a swipe card to “buy” their drinks. The 24 Ultima coffee machines are all filled with ethically sourced coffee from FNC Colombia. A dedicated team of three Simply Drinks operators work around the clock to maintain and re-stock the machines.
The decade-long relationship, working for the multi-million pound company, is down to "people and quality" according to Account Manager Hugh Harrison: "We are proud of our long-standing record with Marks & Spencer. After the re-location, we worked with them to offer equipment to fulfil daily needs, as well as the state-of-the-art bean-to-cup machines which offer a café style cup of coffee. This quality is something that staff expect more and more in today’s office environment."
During the move from Baker Street to Paddington, Simply Drinks' contract switched from being directly with Marks & Spencer to catering company Baxter Storey. Celia Rowbotham, Catering Manager for Baxter Storey says: "The work that Simply Drinks had done at Marks & Spencer for the previous nine years was outstanding, so when it came to switching the contract to us, we had no hesitation in keeping Hugh and his team."
