03-03-2008 - Environmental Agency adopts Integer as its ‘greener’ refreshments vending supplier in the Midlands
The Environment Agency, the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales, has selected Integer, award-winning refreshment vending company based in Corby and a member of the Vendia group, to provide vending services across its Midlands offices.
Not surprisingly, green credentials were high on the Agency’s selection criteria from the outset. Integer’s recycling and minimum packaging policies, its use of environmentally friendly cleaning materials and Vendia’s “Café Joe” Fair TradeTM premium hot drinks range were all factors that helped to secure the contract against strong competition.
Another key factor was Integer’s ability to prove that it could establish and maintain consistently high standards across an installation of 20 machines in eight large offices spread over a geographically dispersed Midlands region.
Heather Pearce, Senior Procurement Officer for the Environment Agency, said: "We have now fully upgraded our refreshment vending across the region to standardise on Integer’s machines and their Café Joe range of quality beverages. Integer met our criteria, especially with their use of ethically traded products and environmentally friendly cleaning materials. The perception of our staff towards vending has improved substantially since the upgrade with many commenting that it can be a pleasurable experience to have a drink or snack from a vending machine!"
The Café Joe drinks are dispensed into Environment Agency ceramic mugs to avoid unnecessary packaging waste. Healthy options stickers also help with raising nutritional awareness among the approximately 2000 users of the machines.
